Nuummite was found near Nuuk, Greenland by the geologist Peter Uitterdijk in 1982. The mineral’s original name was nuukite, but it was later renamed Nuummite, which means "derived from Nuuk." The metamorphic rock is only found in Greenland and is carved into tumbled stones, bracelets, and necklaces. Nuummite is the oldest living mineral, formed over three billion years ago.
Nuummite connects to the crown or base chakra. However, Nuummite is known to activate, open, and integrate all chakras. It acts as a guard against negative energies, protecting one from mental and physical harm. The mineral helps the user make decisions from the heart, aiding them in seeing behind facades.
