Named from the Greek word for sea, Halite is natural sodium chloride (rock salt). Halite can form in deposits in saline lakes, or as a bedded sedimentary deposit, or as a salt dome. Halite has several different color varieties, from blue to white, to purple, to green, to yellow. The mineral is found in many countries, including Canada, India, Russia, and the United States.
Halite will connect to a different chakra depending on its color. Halite is a stone of positivity, elevating one’s mood, dispelling negative energies. The mineral incites independent thought, goodwill, and personal initiative. Halite even may allow one to find ancient wisdom within themselves.
Note: Halite will dissolve in water, as it is water-soluble.
